The eSprinter doesn’t offer a post collision braking system: in the event of a collision that triggers the airbags, more collisions are possible without the protection of airbags that may have already deployed.

Ram’s powertrain warranty covers the ProMaster Cargo Van 1 year and 10,000 miles longer than Mercedes covers the eSprinter. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 5 years or 60,000 miles. Coverage on the eSprinter ends after only 4 years or 50,000 miles.

There are over 6 times as many Ram dealers as there are Mercedes dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the ProMaster Cargo Van’s warranty.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2024 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Ram vehicles are better in initial quality than Mercedes vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Ram first in initial quality, above the industry average. With 57 more problems per 100 vehicles, Mercedes is ranked 21st, below the industry average.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2024 survey of the owners of three-year-old vehicles provides the long-term dependability statistics that show that Ram vehicles are more reliable than Mercedes With 17 fewer problems per 100 vehicles in the first three years of ownership, J.D. Power ranks Ram higher than Mercedes.

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ January 2024 Auto Issue reports that Ram vehicles are more reliable than Mercedes vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Ram 14 places higher in reliability than Mercedes.

The ProMaster Cargo Van’s 3.6 DOHC V6 produces 140 more horsepower (276 vs. 136) than the eSprinter’s standard electric motor. The ProMaster Cargo Van’s 3.6 DOHC V6 produces 72 more horsepower (276 vs. 204) than the eSprinter’s optional electric motor.

The front suspension of the ProMaster Cargo Van uses coil springs for better ride, handling and control than the eSprinter, which uses leaf springs. Coil springs compress more progressively and offer more suspension travel for a smoother ride with less bottoming out.

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the ProMaster Cargo Van is 4.1 inches wider in the front and 2.3 inches wider in the rear than on the eSprinter.

For better maneuverability, the ProMaster 1500 SWB’s turning circle is 15.7 feet tighter than the eSprinter’s (36.3 feet vs. 52 feet). The ProMaster 2500 LWB’s turning circle is 5.2 feet tighter than the eSprinter’s (46.8 feet vs. 52 feet).
